REpow partners with municipalities, provincial energy offices, agricultural cooperatives, and community enterprises to design and implement renewable energy and circular economy solutions that align with Thailand’s national climate commitments and local development priorities. Our local government initiatives focus on biomass, biogas, biomethane, and carbon credit projects that directly reduce emissions from open burning of agricultural residues, heavy fuel oil use, and coal-fired boilers.
Through these initiatives, we help local authorities:
Advance Climate Goals – Deliver projects that contribute directly to Thailand’s Net-Zero 2065 roadmap, NDC targets, and compliance with CBAM and RE100 supply chain requirements, ensuring that municipalities remain competitive in attracting investment and industry.
Reduce Open Burning & Air Pollution – Establish sustainable supply chains for rice straw, sugarcane leaves, and other residues that are traditionally burned, reducing CO₂, methane, and PM2.5 emissions while improving public health.
Create Local Green Jobs – Enable farmers, SMEs, and cooperatives to participate in the renewable energy economy through contracted farming, feedstock supply, and logistics services, generating new income streams and employment opportunities.
Generate Certified Carbon Credits – Integrate biochar, composting, and BECCS pathways into municipal projects, producing verified carbon credits under T-VER, Verra, and Gold Standard, which provide municipalities with both climate impact recognition and additional revenue sources.
Strengthen Community Resilience – Use renewable energy projects as platforms to enhance energy security, soil fertility, and water management while aligning with the government’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model.
REpow’s role is to bridge the gap between local government ambition and international climate finance, ensuring that projects are developed with bankable feasibility studies, EPC and O&M frameworks, and transparent governance. The local government initiatives represent a unique opportunity to channel capital into scalable, community-rooted projects that simultaneously deliver climate impact, social value, and financial sustainability.
